Student Counselling Services

From time to time, life throws situations or experiences our way that, despite our best efforts, we struggle to manage and cope with on our own. This might include anxiety, distress, relational difficulties, or problems with mood and motivation. As a university student, these concerns can create barriers to your ability to learn and thrive.

If you find yourself in this situation, please know that you are not alone. Connecting with the Counselling Services’ team can help. We provide accessible, responsive, evidence-based, and inclusive psychological services. Our clinicians are registered psychologists with extensive experience in helping students work through their mental health and situational concerns.

Much like your academics, counselling works best when you are motivated and willing to take action to improve. The therapeutic relationship with your assigned clinician is built on teamwork and collaboration. Appointments occur over a short- or medium term period and are aimed at improving wellness, adjustment, and personal and interpersonal functioning by cultivating resourcefulness, skills, and goal-directed behaviours.

Although in-person services are currently suspended due to COVID-19, they are still here for you!

Our Services

We offer adults free Online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for a number of mental health concerns. Online Cognitive Behaviour Therapy involves reviewing educational material online with the support of a therapist or a guide. The approach is found to be effective and is a convenient way to receive care.
