This free program focuses on how to create a safe space to have conversations about mental health and/or substance use problems. This program is offered by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Psychology Students Association Peer-to-Peer Mentoring

This program is a way for new students in psychology to be connected with a more experienced psychology student so both can learn and grow.

Workshops and Training

The Working Mind

The Working Mind is an education-based program designed to address and promote mental health and reduce the stigma of mental illness in a workplace setting. Ths program is offered by the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Inquiring Mind

The Inquiring Mind Post-Secondary is an evidence-based program designed to address and promote mental health and reduce the stigma of mental illness in an educational / student setting.

This is an excellent online interactive program that introduces students to:

  • the stigma that others experience when struggling with their own mental health,
  • the mental health colour coded continuum which ranges from Healthy, Reacting, Injured and Ill along five dimensions: Physical Changes, Changes in Mood, in Thinking and Attitude, Behaviour and Performance and Substance use
  • Self-care and Building Resilience
  • And Creating a Supportive Campus
This program is delivered in two 3-hour sessions to a group of no more than 15 students. Use the Counselling Services Contact Us Online Form to arrange for a workshop of this program by U of R Trainers.

HEADSTRONG

HEADSTRONG is an evidence-based anti-stigma initiative created by the Mental Health Commission of Canada to inspire youth ages 12-18 to Be Brave, Reach Out and Speak Up about mental health.
