FAQ'S

Below is a list of situations you may encounter while parking at the University of Regina and what to do if that situation occurs.

I study at First Nations University, Luther College, Campion College. What do I do to get a parking permit?

Students can buy a parking permit by logging into their parking account.  If you are a registered student please use your login credentials to access your parking account.  If you are not a registered student please use your email authentication login to access your parking account.

Note: If your email is not registered please contact Parking Services to set this up.

My vehicle doesn't start.

If your vehicle breaks down in your parking spot, contact Parking Services at 306-585-5555 or Campus Security at 306-585-4999. Tell them that your vehicle has broken down. You also will need to tell them you:

  • name
  • phone number or cell number
  • your vehicle's license plate number
  • the reason why your vehicle can't move
  • what you are doing to rectify the situation (i.e., calling a tow truck)

You will have up to 24 hours to repair and/or remove your vehicle, unless Parking Services or by Campus Security tells you otherwise.

I've lost my permit for the CKHS parkade.

If you've lost your permit for the CKHS parkade, you will need to choose "lost ticket" at the pay station and pay the amount displayed.  The pay station will print a new permit for you to use to activate the main exit door to leave the parkade.

The pay station isn't working.

If the pay station isn't working, call Parking Services at 306-337-2662 or go to the Parking Services front office at College West Building room 108 and explain the situation. Note: You will need to know your license plate number.

The license plate I brought today is different than the one on my parking account.

Please log into your parking account and add or change your license plate.

The electrical outlet I plug into isn't working.

Your electrical outlet is called an Intelligent Parking Lot Controller (IPLC) and has two lights, a green and a red. These lights tell you if the outlet is working and where there may be a problem:

  • A flashing green light at empty stalls means that the receptacle has power present.
  • A solid green light means you've plugged into the IPLC and your vehicle is getting power through your extension cord (We recommend using a 3 prong extension cord).
  • A flashing red light means you've plugged in, but no power is being sent to your vehicle.  You either have a short circuit in your wiring or have exceeded the wattage limits for that outlet (15 amps allows for one block heater and one car warmer).
  • A solid red light means you've plugged in but no power is being sent to your vehicle because the IPLC outlet is faulty or you have exceed the wattage limits for that outlet. Contact Parking Services at 306-585-5555 or Work Control at 306-585-4039 to report the situation and the IPLC outlet post number.

Note: Overloading a circuit (flashing red or solid red light) leaves all vehicles parked to outlets on that circuit WITHOUT electricity. The University does not assume any responsibility for damage, expense or inconvenience caused by interrupted power supply from an IPLC outlet.
