Privacy and Access

The Executive Director, University Governance is the University Officer designated as Head of Access to Information and the Protection of Privacy for the University. University of Regina employees are also encouraged to take the Online Access and Privacy Training (Please use Internet Explorer as the browser for the online training).

Information Security and Awareness

Awareness training is a key component to information security at the University of Regina. The most comprehensive, well thought-out and well executed information security policy can be defeated by a single end-user mistake. Organizations today have invested in computer security technologies such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, yet the most significant risk remains the human factor.

All faculty and staff are encouraged to take Information Security Awareness Training offered by U of R Information Services and the Technology Learning Centre.

This course provides an overview of information on security issues and increases general security awareness. The course can be completed entirely online through UR Courses and takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Training can be stopped at any point and resumed at a later time.
