Dear members of the campus community:

Please be advised that the Dean of MAP Search Advisory Committee's membership has changed.

Prior to any Committee deliberations regarding the shortlisted candidates, APT representative Frank Hanta took leave from the Committee. In consultation with the Committee and Human Resources, and with time constraints in mind, a replacement for Mr. Hanta will not be sought at this stage of the search process.

On behalf of the Search Committee members, I want to acknowledge and thank Mr. Hanta for his contributions to the Search Committee.

Dear members of the campus community:

The Search Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the names of the three candidates shortlisted for the position of Dean, Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance.

Arrangements are now being made to bring these candidates to have these candidates participate in a formal interview, public presentation, stakeholder meetings, and social gatherings with faculty, staff and students. Following these visits, the Search Advisory Committee will seek input on these candidates from our internal and external community members and stakeholders.

The dates of these campus visits are as follows:

  • Thursday February 9: Candidate #1
  • Monday February 13: Candidate #2
  • Thursday February 16: Candidate #3

 

Public Presentation Information

The Search Advisory Committee is pleased to invite the campus community to attend the Public Presentations in the AH 527 Boardroom or via Zoom, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on the dates listed above.

We recognize and understand that you may have other obligations that conflict with the time of the public presentations; consequently, a recording will be made available for period of one week once all campus visits and presentations are complete.

Dear Members of the Campus Community:
 
As a follow-up to my last communication on January 17, 2022, I would like to
inform you that we are commencing the search for a full-time Dean in the
Faculty of Media, Art and Performance; in accordance with the University policy on     
out-of-scope academic administrative appointments, which is available
 
In consultation with the MAP Faculty, the composition of the Search Advisory
Committee (SAC) will be as follows:

    • Shannon Holmes (Theatre)
    • Charity Marsh (Interdisciplinary Programs)
    • Mike Rollo (Film)
  • Graduate student: Tunde Onikoyi
  • Undergraduate student: Émily Beaupré-Walsh
  • OOS member: Cheryl Whyte
  • CUPE member: Elizabeth Dow
  • APT member: Frank Hanta
  • Dean's Council member: Shannon Dea
 
I will fulfill the role of Chair, and the Committee will also be supported in its work by Leaders International
Executive Search, Angela Leader in the Provost's office and Nancy Kazeil of Human Resources.
 
Tentative Search Timeline (subject to change):
  • July 1: SAC in place;
  • September 15: First meeting of the SAC held;
  • By October 7: Advertising under way (provincial, national and international);
  • By January 27: SAC establishes a short list of candidates;
  • Weeks of February 6 & 13: Interviews and campus visits (COVID permitting);
  • By March 31: SAC makes a recommendation regarding preferred candidate to the Provost; Provost makes recommendation to President; negotiations with preferred candidate commence;
  • By April 1: Announcement of the new Dean.
