About Us

The University of Regina Men's and Women's curling teams are determined by the University of Regina Qualifying Spiel that is held in November of each year. The winning teams go on to represent the University of Regina at the Canada West Playdowns and possibly at the CIS/CCA National Championships depending on results at the Canada West playdowns. These teams are recognized as competitive sport clubs offered within the Recreation Services Program at the University of Regina.  Curling is a recognized Canadian Intervarsity Sport (CIS).  

The U of R Curling Club provides young men and women, attending the University of Regina, with the opportunity to participate in competitive curling as a means of enriching their university life experience. It also allows them to pursue their chosen sport at a highly competitive level.

In 2009 the University of Regina's mens team, consisting of Chris Busby (skip), Jason Obst (third), Justin Mihalicz (second), Brad Wallin (lead), Brent Rodgers (alternate), won the CIS/CCA National Championships and went on to represent Canada at the 2010 Karuizawa Invitational in Japan where they also won the Championships

In 2010 the University of Regina's womens team, consisting of Brookly Lemon (skip), Chelsey Peterson (third), Ashley Green (second), Nicole Lang (lead), Sarah Watamanuk (alternate), won the CIS/CCA National Championships and went on to represent Canada at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Erzurym, Turkey.
