The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to the country's economic, social and research-based growth.  Additional information about the program is available here:

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is unique in its emphasis on the synergy between:
• the applicant – their individual merit and potential to launch a successful research-intensive career; and
• the host institution – their commitment to the research program and alignment with the institution's strategic priorities

An applicant to the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program must complete their application in full collaboration with the proposed host institution.

The University of Regina has implemented an internal review and selection process for all Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship applications.  

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship Timeline:

April 19, 2023	Launch of Banting competition
June 15, 2023	Preliminary application package due at Office of Research Services
June 16, 2023	Preliminary packages distributed for review
June 21, 2023	Applications reviewed internally
June 29, 2023	Applicants notified and feedback provided.
August 31, 2023	Internal deadline for submission of full application and Funded Research Approval Form with Department and Faculty signatures to appropriate Grant Facilitator
September 8, 2023	Final draft of synergy letter submitted to VPR for signature. Upon signature the letter will be forwarded electronically to the applicant for submission
September 20, 2023	Full application submitted by nominee to Banting via ResearchNet by 6 p.m. CST
Mid February, 2024	Results Announced
April -October  2024	Banting PDFs take up their appointments and payments begin.
