Automatic Entrance Scholarships

All undergraduate students who apply for admission for Fall are automatically considered for these scholarships based on your admission - no application is required!  Students may only receive one of these scholarships.

Types of Scholarships Value Criteria
UR Circle of Scholars Entrance Scholarship

$20,000

($5,000 x 4 years)

  • 3 International awards for top student in each of the identified regions throughout the world
  • 10 awards for top student in each of the identified regions within Canada
  • $5,000 in first year, renewable for 3 additional years
University of Regina Entrance Scholarship $3,000
  • Admission average of 95% or higher
  • Students applying directly from a Canadian high school or Canadian citizens applying directly from a foreign high school
  • To hold this scholarship, students must register and remain registered in 9 credit hours at the University of Regina throughout the Fall term, up to and including the last day of classes
University of Regina Entrance Scholarship $1,500
  • Admission average of 93-94.99%
  • Students applying directly from a Canadian high school or Canadian citizens applying directly from a foreign high school
  • To hold this scholarship, students must register and remain registered in 9 credit hours at the University of Regina throughout the Fall term, up to and including the last day of classes

University of Regina Entrance Scholarship

  • Admission average of 90-92.99%
  • Students applying directly from a Canadian high school or Canadian citizens applying directly from a foreign high school
  • To hold this scholarship, students must register and remain registered in 9 credit hours at the University of Regina throughout the Fall term, up to and including the last day of classes

University of Regina Out of
Province Entrance Scholarship

$1,500
  • Admission average of 85-94.99%
  • Students applying directly from a Canadian high school outside of Saskatchewan
  • To hold this scholarship, students must register and remain registered in 9 credit hours at the University of Regina throughout the Fall term, up to and including the last day of classes

University of Regina International
Entrance Scholarship

$3,000
  • Admission average of 85% or higher
  • Entering from a secondary school (or equivalent) or transferring from a post-secondary institution
  • Entering on a Study Permit

Faculty of Business Administration Excellence Program Entrance Scholarship

$1,000
  • Admission average of 85% or higher
  • Students applying directly from a Canadian high school
  • Admitted to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program in the Paul J. Hill School of Business
  • To hold this scholarship, students must register and remain registered in 12 credit hours the semester the award is presented

University of Regina Adult Learner Award

$2,000
  • 2 awards
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person
  • Admitted as an Adult Learner for the upcoming Fall term
  • Registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours by August 1

University of Regina Returning Student Award

$2,000
  • 2 awards
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person
  • Re-admitted for the upcoming Fall term
  • Has not attended the University of Regina within the immediately preceding 12 months
  • Registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours by August 1

University of Regina Transfer Student Award

$2,000
  • 2 awards
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person
  • Transferred to the University of Regina for the upcoming Fall term from another accredited post-secondary institution with a minimum of 24 credit hours completed
  • Admission average of 60% or higher
  • Registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours by August 1
University of Regina Transfer Student Scholarship $3,000
  • 2 awards
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person
  • Transferred to the University of Regina for the upcoming Fall term from another accredited post-secondary institution with a minimum of 24 credit hours completed
  • Admission average of 80% or higher
  • Registered in a minimum of 9 credit hours by August 1 
University of Regina New Student Housing Award

$1,500 for any dorm-style accommodation

$1,200 for a 6-bedroom apartment-style accommodation

  • Admitted to an undergraduate program in the upcoming Fall term
  • Entering a Housing Contract for the first time at the University of Regina
  • Selects an eligible room type
  • To be eligible for this award, students must apply for Housing by March 15th and enter/fulfill an eight-month Housing Contract
  • To hold this award, students must register and remain registered in 9 credit hours in both the Fall & Winter terms
