Mathematics of Planet Earth Public Lecture

More than 100 international scientific societies, universities, research institutes, and organizations have collectively dedicated 2013 as a special year for the Mathematics of Planet Earth. In support of MPE, Canada will host 13 public lectures across the country. As part of this series, the University of Regina and the Canadian Mathematical Society present a public lecture by Professor Gerda de Vries of the University of Alberta, titled "The Language of Life: When Mathematics Speaks to Biology." A reception will follow.
