Title: Numerical Range and Mapping Theorems, II
Abstract:
The numerical range of an operator A is a remarkable region of the complex plane. It captures information about the spectrum and the behavior of A.
In this second lecture, we will continue our discussion on the numerical range of special classes of operators. Moreover, recall that the numerical range is also defined by the quantum states (unital positive linear functionals). We will proof the equivalence between the different definitions using the resolvent norm, and discuss some mapping theorems.
