Validation by Educational Experience

Becoming an Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA) requires that candidates have credit for Validation by Education Experience (VEE) in three subjects: Economics, Finance, and Applied Statistical Methods.  There are no actuarial exams for these subjects, but instead the VEE requirements are met by obtaining minimum grades in approved courses.  University of Regina students can obtain these credits using the following courses.

In order to be eligible for the VEE credit in a subject, a student must meet the minimum standard for each course.  For example, the Economics VEE credit requires a 70% in ECON201 AND a 70% in ECON202.

VEE credits can also be obtained via a wide variety of other courses.  Further details can be found at the Society of Actuaries Website.
