Practicum: SW 348 and SW 448 (Regina Online)

All BSW students planning to take Practicum in Fall 2019 are expected to attend an Information Session.
  • Fall 2019 Practicum Application Deadline: March 1, 2019.
  • To be placed in practicum, students are required to have a minimum 70% GPA in the social work section of the BSW.
  • Please refer to our practicum page for further details.

Practicum 1:

  • To be eligible to take Practicum I during the Fall 2019 semester, students must have the necessary pre-requisites completed by March 1, 2019. 
  • Placement availability is limited and priority for placement is given to students who follow the recommended BSW sequencing which places Practicum I in the 2nd last semester of the BSW Program.
Pre-requisites for SW 348:
SW 100 (3 credit hours)
SW 346 (3 credit hours)
SW 390 (3 credit hours)
SW Course (3 credit hours)
SW Course (3 credit hours)
Total: 15 credit hours of social work courses

Practicum 2:

  • To be eligible to take Practicum II during the Fall 2019 semester, students must have the necessary pre-requisites completed by March 1, 2019.  Placement availability is limited.
  • Priority for placement is given to students who follow the recommended BSW sequencing which places Practicum II in the final semester of the BSW Program.

SW 202 (3 credit hours) *
SW 346 (3 credit hours)
SW 347 (3 credit hours)
SW 348 (6 credit hours)
SW 350 (3 credit hours)
SW 390 (3 credit hours)
SW 421 (3 credit hours) **
SW 451 (3 credit hours)
SW 460 (3 credit hours)
SW 469 (3 credit hours)
* SW 202 is only a pre-requisite for students admitted to the BSW in January 2012 or later (and anyone re-admitted to the University after May 2011). 

**SW 421 is only a pre-requisite for students admitted to the BSW in January 2014 or later (and anyone re-admitted to the University after May 2013).
