U of R Response to COVID-19

  • As the University of Regina prepares for the Fall 2020 semester and beyond in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, continued leadership will be a key aspect of our ability to plan for an uncertain future.

  • The University, through consultation and centralized planning, will ensure that resources are utilized appropriately and that risks are identified early and mitigated efficiently.

  • Several teams and working groups are contributing to recovery efforts at the University.

Leads decision-making at the heart of recovery planning and provides centralized direction and coordination of information-sharing.

  • Recovery plan implementation will be guided and supported by three working groups, with each particular working group championed by a member of UET:

  • Each group is closely connected to the others, i.e., each area affects and is effected by the others.
  • Focused work by individuals with the requisite knowledge, skills, and understanding to obtain data and develop detailed plans will support the working groups and the overall recovery plan.

Research Working Group: Return to Research

  • Research recovery is led by Dr. Kathleen McNutt, Vice-President (Research)
  • The senior research team (SRT) and research recovery group has recommended a four-phase back to research plan that has been reviewed and endorsed by the Ministry of Health.
  • The research risk assessment committee evaluates all applications to resume research activity. As of August 26, 2020, 164 applications had been received.

The operations recovery committee provides risk assessment and implementation guidance for all aspects of campus reopening, including:
