Spring/Summer term to begin with remote teaching and learning

  • With the ongoing prevalence of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations in southern Saskatchewan, the University of Regina will not conduct any face-to-face instruction to begin the Spring/Summer term.
  • Classes will begin, as scheduled, on Monday, May 3, however any in-person course offerings will, instead, be delivered remotely for the time being.

In response to Regina’s heightened rates of Covid-19 infections, including cases involving variants of concern, and in alignment with the Government of Saskatchewan's latest public health orders for Regina and area, the University has made the decision to temporarily pause face-to-face delivery of classes beginning Monday, March 29th.

The Western Hockey League (WHL) recently announced that it is proceeding with an abbreviated hockey season, with the City of Regina serving as the Eastern Division hub.The University of Regina, in conjunction with Luther College, is working with the WHL to provide teams with accommodations during their hockey season.

Use and supply of medical and non-medical masks/face coverings

  • Use of masks/face coverings in shared, public, indoor spaces on our campuses is strongly recommended, although not mandatory at this time.
  • The University has standardized disposable, medical masks for our front-line, essential workers and researchers to use as required if their work or learning activity doesn't allow for two-metre distancing.
  • The University is working towards sourcing a supply of branded, non-medical, reusable, cloth masks once our Health, Safety and Wellness team determines the standards that need to be met.
