Mask Guidelines for Campus

Updated on Aug 20
Tags: health and safety, all updates

The University of Regina’s top priority continues to be the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff. That is why, on September 1, 2020, the use of masks will become mandatory in all indoor public and shared spaces on our campuses where physical distancing cannot be maintained. While not mandatory at this time the use of masks/face coverings in common areas is still strongly recommended prior to September 1.

Evidence shows that masks are effective in slowing the spread of coronavirus.

The University of Regina Health, Safety and Wellness division has prepared Mask Guidelines for students, faculty and staff. Guidelines include:

  • Which masks are recommended
  • When and where masks are required
  • How to properly wear a mask

The use of face masks is one piece in a comprehensive package of prevention and control measures that can limit the spread of certain respiratory viral diseases, including COVID-19.

Mask use, compliance with hand hygiene, physical distancing, and other infection prevention and control measures are critical to prevent human-to-human transmission of COVID-19.
