Kaltura CE

Kaltura - Open Source VideoKaltura CE (Community Edition) is an open-source, on-premise video platform, developed through the combined efforts of Kaltura and the open-source community.

The Kaltura platform enables video management, publishing, and syndication, as well as providing a robust framework for managing rich-media applications, and developing a variety of online workflows for video.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning, Library, and Information Services worked together to launch a pilot integration of Kaltura CE with UR Courses to enhance our media delivery and archiving practices. The service continues and is currently maintained by Flexible Learning in collaboration with Information Services.

Within UR Courses, Kaltura CE can be used to upload video and create or submit media assignments.

Outside of UR Courses, the Kaltura CE instance can also be used to create embeddable videos and playlists; bulk import existing video from most digital file formats, or by URL; edit video; create clips; and host live streaming events.

If you are an instructor and would like access to Kaltura within UR Courses, or would just like further information about the Kaltura CE instance at the U of R, please contact ctl.support@uregina.ca.

If you are a student and experiencing problems with either the Kaltura player or video playback within your course, please contact IT.Support@uregina.ca.
