Dr. Henry Chow is a Professor and Graduate Program Co-ordinator in the Department of Sociology and Social Studies. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and pursued advanced studies in clinical & pastoral counselling and theology. He joined the University of Regina in 1999 as an assistant professor, received tenure in 2002, and became a full professor in 2010. From 1999-2011, he also served as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Sociology at the University of Calgary. His major teaching and research interests include criminology and criminal justice, immigration and multiculturalism, immigrant and refugee settlement, ethnic studies, social gerontology, the sociology of education, the sociology of religion, quantitative analysis, and survey research methods.

 As well, he has published numerous research reports based on surveys that were undertaken in this province and across the country, exploring various critical social issues such as policing, criminal offenders, prostitution, youth risk/delinquent behaviour, terrorism, immigration, eldercare, euthanasia, ethnic churches, heritage language maintenance, emotional intelligence, academic misconduct, civic and political participation, binge drinking, and internet/smart phone use. His current projects focus on environmental concern, climate change, campus safety, restorative justice, sex trafficking, Chinese immigrants from the PR China, attitudes toward COVID-19 vaccination, and  the impact of the pandemic on university students.
