Crucial Conversations Workshop

This 2-day, time spaced workshop will provide you with practical tools to successfully navigate through difficult conversations that stand in the way of getting the results you really want - now and in the future.

What makes a conversation crucial?

Every crucial conversation contains three elements: Opposing Opinions, Strong Emotions and High Stakes.

Examples of crucial conversations which managers/supervisors might have include:

• Talking to a co-worker about a recurring problem (e.g. being late for work, rudeness)
• Talking to someone about not having adequate resources to fulfill your role
• Talking to a low performer
• Dealing with chronically missed deadlines - despite your best efforts
• Critiquing a colleague's work
• Giving an unfavourable performance review

Learning Objectives:

Our objectives for the workshop are to help you achieve the results you want AND strengthen relationships by learning how to:

• Avoid, identify, and fix problems before they get out of hand
• Identify how you communicate with people when you are under stress
• Create safety to talk about just about anything with anybody
• Avoid clever stories we tell ourselves to feel good about performing poorly
• Speak persuasively, not abrasively, when we are trying to make our points
• Understand others even when they blow up or clam up
• Engage in crucial conversations when you complete the workshop

Dates: July 28/15 and August 4/15.

This is a 2 day, time spaced workshop, and if you are planning to register, please commit to both dates.

Cost: $402.28, includes all participant materials.
