Arrival of new Nursing Liaison Librarian - July 1, 2011

The Dr. John Archer Library is pleased to announce the arrival of a new Nursing Liaison Librarian, Mary Chipanshi.

Mary has over 15 years work experience in academia and the health services sector, including nine years as a Client Services Librarian at Qu’Appelle Health Region’s Health Sciences Library, Regina. She also worked as a Public Services Librarian and Reference Librarian at the Health Sciences Libraries at Queens University and the University of Saskatchewan, and at SIAST (Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology).

Mary is a Senior Member of the peer-reviewed professional development and career recognition program Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) and is also President of the Saskatchewan Health Libraries Association. She has experience with designing and developing information literacy programs for health care professionals and undergraduate medical students.

Professionally active, Mary has made several presentations to library conferences across Canada and overseas. She has a Masters of Librarianship from the University of Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Library Studies) from the University of Zambia.

Mary's official start date is July 1, 2011. Please join me in welcoming Mary to our Library and the University of Regina.
