Dr. John Archer Library Award 2013 recipient

The recipient of the Dr. John Archer Library Award for 2013 is Zina Scott. She won $1,000 for writing a reflective essay in which she clearly articulated utilizing the library's collections and resources for conducting research. Ms. Scott is a third year student in the Faculty of Science and majoring in Biochemistry. She wrote her reflective essay for a Biology 265 course assignment. A copy of her reflective library essay and graded biology assignment are available in oURspace. A private ceremony was held in the Library's Archives/Special Collections Reading Room Wednesday, June 19. University Librarian Bill Sgrazzutti presented Ms. Scott with a Library Award certificate. Also in attendance were Dr. Nader Mobed, representing the Faculty of Science, and Kerri Finlay, lecturer in the Department of Biology, who graded Ms. Scott's research assignment.

The Dr. John Archer Library Award will be available to undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time in the 2013-14 academic year. Faculty are encouraged to have students in their undergraduate courses apply for the award if they receive a minimum of 70% for a graded research project.
