Invitation to an Open Forum on the Library Acquisitions Budget

Colleagues,

The Library would like to invite you to an open forum on the current state of the Acquisitions Budget.  As you are aware, the acquisitions budget has been faced with some real challenges recently - due mainly to the weakness of the Canadian dollar.  We made some initial cuts in order to balance our 2014/15 budget and we will be faced with making more cuts in the upcoming year.

If you are wondering how we got here in the first place, this session is for you.
If you are wondering what the cuts to date were based on, this session is for you.
If you would like to have a better understanding of the whole situation, this session is for you.
If you would just like to come and ask us questions, this session is for you.

We see this as an opportunity to engage in a dialogue about the situation and to hear your suggestions for moving forward.

In order to accommodate people's busy schedules, two dates have been set aside.

Thursday, February 25, 3:00 p.m. LY 610 (Library - CTL)
Monday, February 29, 3:00 p.m. LY 610 (Library - CTL)

In order to assist us in planning this event, it would be useful for us to get an idea of how many of you plan on attending and on which day.  To this end, could you RSVP me to let me know your intention.  Of course, if you don't RSVP, you are still welcome to attend either session.

Best regards,
Colleen
