Dr. John Archer Library Award 2016 recipient.

     

The recipient of the Dr. John Archer Library Award for 2016 is Carrie Kotylak. Ms. Kotylak is a first year student but pre-qualifies for being in her third year due to course work at another institution. She is in the Business Administration Program and is majoring in International Studies. Carrie won $1,000 for writing the best one page reflective essay about how she utilized the University Library’s resources and services to complete her research project for Viktoryia Galushko’s ECON 341 Canada and the Global Economy course. The graded assignment was titled Saskatchewan’s Cow-Calf Production Sector The Historical Development Resulting in Current Labour Shortages and Lack of Labour Mobility.

A private ceremony took place in the University Library on March 28. In attendance were Acting University Librarian, Colleen Murphy, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Andrew Gaudes, Viktoryia Galushko (ECON 341 instructor), and Carrie Kotylak. Photos of the ceremony, copy of Ms. Kotylak’s reflective essay and her graded ECON 341 assignment are available in the University of Regina’s institutional repository (oURspace).

The Award will be available to undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time in any discipline at the University of Regina and its federated colleges in 2016-17.
