Monday January 22 2018, 7pm-- Gail Krawetz Lecture: Risk and Reward - the birth and rise of the Saskatchewan Party
The political landscape of Saskatchewan has been marked over the last two decades by the emergence of the Saskatchewan Party as the Official Opposition (1997-2007) and later as the government (2007-). Please join us for a lecture by Gail Krawetz on her new book Risk and Reward a history of the Saskatchewan Party's formation and first decades. Derived from interviews with key individuals this books explores the discussions and compromises between Liberal and Progressive Conservative Party MLAs that gave birth to this unique bi-partisan political formation in 1997.
"Until this book was written, only a few of the most influential people within the inner circles of the Progressive Conservative and Liberal parties knew much regarding the political machinations that led to the creation of Saskatchewan Party…Risk & Reward lays the foundation for additional academic and non-academic work, and gives hope to political parties (large and small) who seem to have been relegated to the proverbial political electoral wilderness."
