Expansion of Library Services

The Archer Library and Archives is pleased to announce that we are expanding services to the campus community, effective immediately.

We remain committed to providing our students and faculty with access to the resources you need for teaching, learning, and research.

The Archer Library will continue to provide remote access to books, journals, and archival materials. Please use this form to request materials.

For materials that are not available electronically and which we cannot digitize, we will mail the materials to students and faculty within Canada. Recalls of materials will not be available until September.

A reminder that none of these services are available for books in the Textbooks for All collection or the Teaching Preparation Centre. These collections will remain inaccessible until the campus returns fully to on-site teaching.

For archival materials that cannot be digitized, we will be allowing access to the Archives reading room by pre-arranged appointment only. Archives staff will be happy to work with you via Zoom, email, phone, or chat prior to your visit to identify the materials you need. On arrival, your materials will be waiting for you at one of the archive reading room tables. Archives staff will not be able to provide further assistance during your visit. If you require access to additional materials, a follow up visit will need to be scheduled. If you would like to make use of this service, please contact Archives staff.

We will also be providing access to the microfilm reader by pre-arranged appointment. User services staff will be happy to work with you via Zoom, email, phone, or chat prior to your visit to identify the microfilm reels you wish to review. On arrival, your materials will be waiting for you at the microfilm reader. User Services staff will not be able to provide further assistance during your visit. If you require access to additional microfilm materials, a follow up visit will need to be scheduled. If you would like to use the microfilm reader, please contact User Services staff.

Starting in September we will be further expanding our services. We are in the process of purchasing book lockers which will allow for a robust curbside pickup program. We will also be working with the University Facilities Team to provide appointment based access to the main floor computers and some main floor solo study spaces beginning in the Fall semester. Additional information will be provided closer to September.

If you have any questions about any of our services, please contact us by email, chat or text message.
