Hiring a Co-op Student for Fall 2024

1st Round of Hiring - The Match

Advertising Positions -The following deadlines allow you to get a head start on advertising your positions:

Employers can begin posting Co-op opportunities anytime after April 8th, 2024. Postings can be posted  directly to https://careerconnect.uregina.ca/home.htm or sent to coop.office@uregina.ca and we will advertise your position(s) on our student job board. 

First Deadline - Friday, May 17th 

To reach the maximum amount of students, please have your job posting in by Friday, May 17th, and you will receive resumes on Friday, May 24, 2024. This will allow all current and new co-op students the option to apply for the position(s), as new students (and potentially your ideal candidate!) may not have been accepted to the program prior to that date.

Second Deadline - Monday, June 3rd 

Post your job in Career Connect by June 3rd and set the deadline as Wednesday, June 5th. Resumes will be emailed to you on Thursday, June 6th. This provides you with four days to screen and interview candidates.

Interviewing Candidates - Interview weeks for the Match are:

May 27 - May 31

June 3 - June 7

June 10 & 11

Our office would be pleased to assist in setting up any interviews between yourselves and the students. Please keep us informed as to when interviews are being set up should you choose to do so without the Co-op Office's assistance so that we can track the interview dates and times and avoid schedulng conflicts.

Rank Candidates:

Employer ranking forms are due by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11th. Please submit your ranking form to Career Connect.

MATCH DAY IS FRIDAY, June 14th!
You will be notified of Match results though Career Connect 

 
2nd Round of Hiring - Direct Offer - Post-Match begins MONDAY, June 17TH 

A number of quality students will be seeking a Co-op position after the Match. In Post-Match, job postings are filled by Direct Offer. Students who have applied for a position can be interviewed at your convenience. After interviewing, employers can offer a position directly and students will have 24 hours to accept.

June 17th – August 30th is an ongoing recruitment prcess for fall hiring.
