Hiring an Intern for Summer or Fall 2024

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the summer or fall offering of the 16- or 12-month Engineering Internship program at the University of Regina. The following U of R Engineering programs participate in the 16- or 12-month offering of Internship: Electronic, Software, Environmental, and Industrial Systems Engineering. Engineering Interns complete one 16- or 12-month placement starting in May or September 2024. The Internship timelines for posting a job and interviewing run parallel to those of the traditional Co-op program to make participation as easy as possible.

Hiring an Engineering Internship Student for May or September 2024

The University of Regina's Engineering Internship program allows employers to hire students on a direct offer basis. Take note of the dates below so you do not miss out on getting an intern!

Advertising Positions -
The following deadlines allow you to get a head start on advertising your positions:

Employers can begin posting Internship opportunities anytime after December 4th, 2023. Send your posting to coop.office@uregina.ca and we will advertise your position(s) on our student job board. We are happy to collect resumes and send them to you or we can direct students to apply through your website.

Interviewing Candidates -
Employers can begin interviewing students Monday, December 11th, 2023 or anytime beyond, at your discretion. The Career Centre prefers to set up interviews, however we understand that it may be your preference to set up interviews at your end. We're okay with you setting up the interviews, as long as you keep us informed.

Note:

A number of quality students will be seeking an internship throughout the winter semester (Jan-Apr 2024), so the process will be ongoing.

If you know that you have a need for an intern to start in September 2024 for 12-months, you are welcome to post your position to start the recruitment process in April 2024.

Once offered a position, students will have 24 hours to make their decision.
