Honours Application process

We are currently accepting applications for fall of 2024. Deadline for applications is February 1, 2024.

Please note: The honours application review and matching process is lengthy and involved. Students should not expect to receive notification of the results prior to March 15. Students should not wait to find out the results prior to registering for their other Fall classes. All students accepted into honours will have a spot held for them in PSYC 400.

Application to the Psychology Honours program require the following:

• Program GPA of at least 70%
• Major GPA of at least 75%
• Completion of at least 60 credit hours
• Completion of all Arts or Science Core Requirement courses (depending on whether registered in the BA or BSc program, respectively);
• Completion of the Psychology Honours Program Application form (see below);
• A diversity statement (optional, as described below);
• A letter of intent (as described below); and
• Unofficial copies of all undergraduate transcripts
• Meet with an advisor from their Faculty or Federated College in the Fall semester that precedes the semester in which they intend to apply. At this meeting, advisors will complete a special Honours Program outline for the student, so the student is aware of which prerequisites they still need to complete prior to commencing PSYC 400.
