Week 2: Phone Week

Mutli-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) gives your devices an extra layer of protection by using two or more security measures to verify your identity so that you are able to access your accounts or devices. Passwords are no longer sufficient to ensure your online security.

Three types of authentication factors are:

  • Something you know, such as a password
  • Something you have, such as a phone or USB key
  • Something you are, such as a fingerprint.

Learn more about MFA and why it is important for your device, and accounts.  Set up MFA to use your phone as something you have to augment your password.  Or set up your fingerprint scanner or facial recognition to protect access to your phone.
