Congratulations to the following recipients of a Special Call for Strategic Plan Aligned Research Grants. The intent of the funding is to build research capacity and demonstrate our relevance in the province of Saskatchewan and beyond.

Dr. Chris Street and Dr. Justin Feeney won the best paper award for the year in the Journal of Behavioural and Applied Management (JBAM) with their paper “Turnover and Recommendation Intentions in the Post-Implementation Period of Radical Decentralization”.


The Hill School has a new agreement with North West College to enable students completing their Business Certificate or Business Management Diploma with North West College to transfer into our BBA degree.

All transfer credits are assessed on a per course basis upon admission.

Congratulations to our Hill ICBC teams who have advanced to the Final Round of Competition which will be held at Queen’s University in Kingston January 13 through 15:

  • Business Strategy: Rebecca Adimula, Serra Al-Katib and Renee Legrand coached by Bruce Anderson
  • Digital Strategy: Anyka Faucher and Peyton Gent coached by Dr. Bill Bonner
  • Human Resources: Jessica Bereti and Jaya Mallu coached by Dr. Andrew Stevens and Loretta Gerlach

As a result of having four teams advance to the Final Round we placed in the top six Universities overall, allowing us to send a debate team. Our Debate team will consist of Jasmine Bal and Joshua Cherian who are coached by Tina Beaudry-Mellor.

Special shout out to Nola Joorisity for serving as faculty advisor and for her leadership, coordination, team spirit, and collaboration in putting together teams and coaches and for developing programming for these students as part of their learning.

Thanks also to Lee Elliot, Dr. Tatiana Levit, Sara Smit, and Dr. Arturo Rubalcava who have also given considerable time over the past three months working as coaches with students in these and other teams.

The 2022 Hill | Levene Review was released in November. This year's issue focuses on the theme of experiential learning and highlights the opportunities available to our Hill and Levene students both in and out of the classroom.

Congratulations to the 100 students from the Hill School of Business and the 28 students from the Levene Graduate School of Business who convocated in Fall 2022.

Congratulations also to Hannah Tait who was the recipient of the Faculty of Business Administration Dean’s Medal and Joy Brailean who was the recipient of the University Prize in Business Administration.

Very special congratulations also to our very own BBA alumna, Rachel Mielke who was the Fall 2022 honorary degree recipient.


The 27th Accounting Fellowship Banquet on October 17 welcomed 11 new members into the Accounting Fellowship Program bringing the group to a total of 483 members. We also recognized and celebrated the 2020 and 2021 inductees at this year's banquet.

The Accounting Fellowship Program recognizes the academic accomplishments of accounting students. Membership in the Accounting Fellowship Program is recognized by the accounting community as a significant accomplishment achieved only by the best accounting students. Students in the program have achieved a grade point average of 80% or more.

The 47th annual Honouring Integrity, Legacy & Leadership (HILL) Dinner, organized by the Hill Business Students’ Society took place on October 5 at the Delta Regina. Dinner include a presentation from our keynote speaker and HILL Award Recipient, Al Monaco, President & CEO of Enbridge Inc.

Congratulations to Dr. Sanobar Siddiqui who is the recipient of two new grants:

  • $6,000 SSHRC Explorer grant funding from the University of Regina for a project titled Trends in Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability Reporting ESG- A bibliometric analysis
  • $15,000 Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (BSI) grant for a project titled Emmertech Research Project - Conexus Venture Capital Inc.

Dr. Paul Sinclair was been selected as one of three President's Teaching Scholars for a two-year term.

This achievement recognizes Paul as someone who demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching and learning as well as a willingness to promote teaching and learning excellence in our Faculty and across the institution.


The Hill and Levene Schools of Business, in partnership with the Prince’s Trust Charity hosted the Operation Entrepreneur (OE West) program again in August.

This is the 10th year that the Hill and Levene Schools have been part of Operation Entrepreneur - and it was wonderful to welcome the participants back to campus following two years of delivering the program remotely.

A huge shout out Dr. Grant Wilson, who served as the academic/faculty lead, Bruce Anderson, co-lead for support, Nola Joorisity, Lee Elliott, Randy Linton, and Dr. Chris Street for their work in making the program happen again this year.

The CPA Teaching Innovation Award was established to recognize and celebrate the adoption of innovative strategies to achieve excellence in teaching at the Hill and Levene Schools of Business.
Congratulations to Dr. Jacqui Gagnon and Dr. Peter Moroz who were both recognized in 2022 as CPA Teaching Innovation Award recipients.

Jacqui brings an innovative approach to her teaching and has a strong commitment to our students. Her dedication to making course materials accessible as open-source is admirable. One committee member estimated that because of her innovation and investment of time, she has saved our students thousands of dollars collectively every year. That is an example of someone living a student-centric approach to business education.

Peter has made a range of contributions towards teaching. His YouTube challenge project in his classes, the important contributions in the development of the ICE Certificate, new courses for the program, and authoring eleven business cases to fill curriculum needs for ICE courses demonstrate his commitment to our students and his ability to create an engaging and enriching learning environment. Peter brings creativity, unique style, and the ability to create a culture of critical and divergent thinking to generate innovative ideas.

The CPA Research Impact Award was established to recognize and celebrate research excellence at the Hill and Levene Schools of Business, specifically research that makes a positive impact on our community, as well as the body of knowledge in the respective area of research.

Congratulations to Dr. Sean Tucker who is the recipient of the 2022 CPA Research Impact Award.

Sean has an impressive research record and is very deserving of this award. His research impact goes well beyond traditional academic outlets and forums with an extensive range of media interviews and community presentations. His reputation in the area of occupational health and safety is national in scope and the related reports are used (and posted publicly) on a number of provincial association websites. His research makes a difference and saves lives across this country!


Our Levene MHRM program is now accredited with CPHR Saskatchewan.

We will be the only graduate program in the province to be CPHR accredited and one of very few across the country.

The agreement allows our students to waive the national competency exam in their pursuit of the CPHR designation. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our MHRM students.

Congratulations to Thomas Tse who was awarded the Hill and Levene Going Above and Beyond Staff Appreciation Award for 2022.

This award was created to recognize and celebrate a Hill | Levene CUPE/APT/out-of-scope staff member who goes above and beyond to make a meaningful contribution to and advance the mission of the Schools. The individual who receives this award is viewed as someone who lives our values and mission on a daily basis.

Thomas is very deserving of this award and the nomination and support letters all speak to his incredible responsiveness, exceptional expertise, and overall kindness. Students, faculty and staff alike are fortunate to have him as part of Hill and Levene.


The Levene School of Business has signed a new agreement with IPADE Business School in Mexico for the establishment of the "Mexico Chair"

Congratulations to the Hill Business Students’ Society who hosted their 50th annual Keg-A-Rama fundraiser on March 25. The event saw 13 teams participate, raising nearly $6,000 for the Regina Firefighter Burn Unit.

Congratulations to the Hill Business Students' Society who hosted their 13th annual 5 Days for the Homeless campaign! They raised $44,905.34 for Carmichael Outreach bringing their 13 year total to $451,414.

Congratulations to our Enactus Regina team, under the leadership of President Arslan Azeem and faculty advisor Dr. Grant Wilson, who placed second in the Canadian Western Bank (CWB) Financial Educational Challenge for Western Canada - League B for their new program with CRA.

Members of the Faculty of Business Administration who were honoured in the University of Regina’s Long Service Recognition Awards include: Dr. Helen Huang, Dr. Peter Moroz, and Edwin Narzoles for 10 years of service; Bruce Anderson for 15 years of service; Dr. Youngsoo Kim and Dr. Jean-Marie Nkongolo-Bakenda for 20 years of service; and Dr. Morina Rennie for a remarkable 35 years of service.

The Hill School of Business has received accreditation with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) Saskatchewan. This accreditation will make it easier for students graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a major in Human Resource Management to receive their CPHR designation.

Moroz photo Congratulations to Dr. Peter Moroz whos case SalonScale: Start-Up Customer Relationship Strategies for Niche Market Growth ( 9B21A023) has been entered into the EFMD 2021 Case Competition in the Entrepreneurship category. This is indicative of the case’s high quality that it has been selected for submission. EFMD has organized an annual case writing competition with the intent to encourage innovative and impactful case writing and teaching. Submission categories focus on specific issues or regions of the world. The EFMD case competition results will be announced in April 2022.

Congratulations to our Hill JDC West team, led by co-captains Jacob Nelson and Jessica Goebel, who took home 3rd place for School of the Year at the virtual JDC West competition this past weekend!
