URI Responsibility

Program Development

Faculty Mobility encompasses a wide range of potential programs. In order to serve you best, we evaluate each case individually, in order to design the best possible program for your needs. When developing and designing a program for you, we will explore every potential avenue; including connecting with current or new partner institutions and formalizing the partnership (through formal agreements, where applicable).

Mission itinerary

Once an appropriate partner institution has been identified and the specific objectives and outcomes have been agreed upon, we will work with you and with your host institution to develop your itinerary, to ensure maximum productivity and benefit to you.


Pre-departure orientation

Working with the Faculty mobility specialist and a regional specialist (if needed) we will conduct a pre-departure orientation with you to ensure you are fully prepared for your mission abroad.

Mission briefing book (country briefing, institution briefing, contact information, etc.)

A comprehensive briefing book to assist you in your mission:

  • contact information
  • country briefing documents
  • host institution briefing documents

Mission de-briefing and follow-up communication (further program development where appropriate)

Faculty responsibility

Immigration documents: Due to confidentiality it is the responsibility of the faculty member to apply for his/her relevant immigration documentation

Accommodation/Transportation: Though UR International will assist and advise regarding accommodation/Transportation, it remains the responsibility of the faculty member to find appropriate accommodation/transportation. UR International will work with U of R host partner institutions to request assistance with accommodation, where possible. 

Finance: It remains the responsibility of the faculty member to acquire the necessary financial recourses to fulfill the needs of his/her faculty mobility program abroad. UR International will assist and advise on financial resources where possible and appropriate. 

Family: The University of Regina cannot take responsibility for family members accompanying the faculty member abroad. All related aspects remain the responsibility of the faculty member.
