The paper I selected for the next journal club reports the first observation of metallic hydrogen, which was theoretically predicted in 1935. This material is of interest, among other reasons, for the possibility of being a high-temperature superconductor. The full paper can be found here:
However, many researchers are not convinced of the results presented, as can be seen in the following article from Nature:
