Title: Persistence modules and distances between them (497 kB)
Abstract:
Persistence modules have gained significant relevance in the past few decades thanks to the development of topological data analysis. This talk serves as an introductory lecture to persistence modules in a general setting. This includes what they are, how they appear in nature, and a notion of distance between them. The disance we’ll focus on is a generalization of the interleaving distance and we will sketch a proof of its stability with respect to other distances.
