Welcome to OIR

The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) provides institutional data and reports to support the University and its external partners for business decision making and student-focused research initiatives. OIR also submits information about our students and our University to national and international compendiums, including rankings.

OIR leads participation in and reporting of several national surveys that are intended to collect data about the University's students, alumni, faculty and staff. We also collect and report the data in the University's Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), measuring progress towards the University's strategic goals.

What We Do

Facts and Statistics

The Office of Institutional Research provides reports and statistical data to inform the University’s business decision making and research initiatives. In this section you’ll find registration statistics and supplemental reports, headcount enrolments by faculty, convocation statistics, data related to tuition fees and living costs, and workforce demographics information.

Performance Measurement Framework

The University of Regina’s Performance Measurement Framework (PMF), a variation on the balanced scorecard methodology, is the instrument by which the University and its Board of Governors measures and reports its progress in achieving the goals of its strategic plan. Surveys

The University of Regina participates in a number of surveys that are intended to collect data about its students, alumni, faculty and staff for administrative, planning and reporting purposes. In this section you’ll find advice on planning and conducting surveys, survey software, Canadian University Survey Consortium (CUSC) Canada-wide surveys, and other survey reports, as well as links to the Surveys Policy.

Ranking and Benchmarking Systems

This function pertains to university ranking and benchmarking systems, particularly those representing the most prominent Canadian and international systems. The University of Regina participates with and provides data for several of these, while other systems do not require us to directly submit data.

Special Projects and Presentations

Saskatchewan's post-secondary institutions and the Ministry of Advanced Education work together to develop and implement the Post-Secondary Education Indicators Project to collect, analyze and report on sector-wide post-secondary data. Along with the Ministry, the project is led by the province's four public credential-granting institutions: the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT).
