Facilities

The Facilities Services department manages and oversees all facility-related aspects of the Centre for Kinesiology, Health and Sport (CKHS) at the University of Regina. The CKHS is a state-of-the-art multi-use facility that draws local, provincial, national and international events throughout the year.

Since opening its doors, the CKHS has held numerous high-profile national events such as the 2005 Canada Summer Games (Basketball and Volleyball venues), 2009 CIS Women's Basketball National Championships 2013, CIS Women's Basketball National Championships, the 2014 CIS Women's Volleyball National Championships and the 2014 North American Indigenous Games (Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling venues).

The Centre features a 25,000-square-foot three-court gymnasium with retractable bleacher seating for up to 2,000 spectators, two multipurpose gymnasiums, an elevated 200-meter four-lane running track, large fitness Centre, an Aquatics Centre, lecture and classroom facilities, teaching and research laboratories, an artificial turf field and two natural grass fields.

These facilities are intended for the educational and recreational use of the University of Regina community. When not in use for academic, athletic, and recreational sports programs or other University-related events, facilities may be used by the general public for recreational events in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies.
