Converis Research Information System
The Research Office, in partnership with Human Resources, has purchased Converis to track aspects of research management. When complete, the system will be used to record ethics applications to both the REB and PCAC, and to keep information about all research grants and contracts (to be called projects) in one database. The system will allow for easy identification of ethics applications related to funded projects and will increase efficiency of interactions between the Research Office and Research Financial Analysts.
This project has been partially funded by the Research Support Fund awarded by the Government of Canada to assist with the indirect costs of research.
Click the following button to log in to Converis:
(Use Novell Credentials to login - same as you use to log into URCourses, URSource or GroupWise)
Converis For Research Ethics:
The Ethics Module of Converis is currently in a soft launch. Researchers have the option to submit new Research Ethics Board applications using Converis until January 11. After January 11 the use of Converis to submit applications will be mandatory, and the PDF form will no longer be accepted.
For manuals, guidance documents, further details and updates regarding the Converis Research Ethics Module please see: Research Ethics Forms
The system is now being used by the Research Office and Research Financial Analysts to record new grants and projects. As a result of this, you might notice a slight difference in the appearance of emails related to new FOAPALs created, closure of FOAPALs, and new funding opportunities. Part of the system has been configured to automate some emails and to mimic existing formats.
We are continuing to develop other functionalities. Future phases will include an on-line application process for the REB, and the ability for researchers to view their applications and projects in the system. We will keep the campus updated on these initiatives as they develop further.
