CCE Non-Credit Registration Waitlists

Waitlist functionality is an option for all CCE Non-credit programming (Career & Professional Development, Conservatory of Performing Arts & Lifelong Learning Centre.  An activity waiting list is a list of customers who are not yet registered in an activity (normally because there are currently no slots available) but have expressed the desire to register if a slot opens up. 

With waitlist functionality, once enrollment for a class has reached its capacity, the waitlist will be activated.  A waitlist provides many advantages to students, programming units, and administrative staff.  It assists in maximizing enrollment numbers and also allows the unit to track the demand for certain courses and better manage semester offerings.

Waitlist Registration Instructions for Students

Students who attempt to register for a class that is full may put themselves on a waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.

When an open seat becomes available, an e-mail will be sent to all emails listed in your account (see sample below).   Please note that this e-mail is the ONLY notification that students will receive regarding the availability of a seat in a waitlisted class. It is important that students check their preferred e-mail address on a regular basis.

A student will normally have 24 hours - from the time the e-mail was sent - to register by phone, email or in person.  Please note that Student Services (non-credit) has the option to alter the default 24 hour time limit.  After the time limit has expired, if the student did not register for the waitlisted class, he/she will be moved down to the next number on the waitlist.  The next student on the list will be notified.  During this period the activity will appear full.

Sample Email

SUBJECT:  A seat is available for Interpersonal Communication, Deadline: 15-NOV-2018 7:00 PM

Dear FirstName LastName,

You have placed yourself on a Waitlist for Interpersonal Communication, (CRN: 9943.####) in the 2018 Fall term.

A seat is now available and you must register by either phoning, emailing or stopping by in person to below address.  Please note that you have to contact our office to complete your registration before 15-NOV-2018 7:00 PM.

If you miss the deadline, you will automatically be moved down one position on the Waitlist. You will NOT receive a notification of this action.

How to Update Your Preferred Email Address

  1. Click on Sign In on the Registration System Home Page
  2. Enter your email address and password
  3. Click Submit
  4. Select Change Account Address or Personal Information
  5. Review and update Email Address

Waitlist Removal

Waitlists are never dropped and all students will remain on the waitlist unless they contact Student Services (non-credit) to be removed.
