Barb's Story - Flexible Courses
Flexible classes have been a great way for me to receive my education. Not being a big city girl, I have been able to access most of my required classes at a Regional College and through online, televised and blended courses right in my community. This has enabled me to stay close to friends and support systems and keep my living costs low. Being able to choose my own schedule has been essential for me as I strive to maintain a balance between pursuing my studies and being available to my children. Online courses have met that need for me as I have been able to do most of my course work in the evenings after my kids go to sleep.
The times that I have needed guidance, the staff at Parkland Regional College and later the staff at Flexible Learning have been wonderful. I loved the family-like atmosphere at the Regional College and have personally benefitted from their smaller class sizes and individualized support. I highly recommend flexible classes for people with a demanding schedule and a busy family life.
