The Format

The six month program includes: Ensuring a new generation of skilled Healthcare Leaders

initial and final Retreats
lectures and workshops
group projects focusing on six core competency areas
teleconferences involving discussions with leaders and
access to coach/facilitators based in the healthcare system

The program begins with a five-day Retreat from November 15-19, 2010 at the Hotel Saskatchewan Radisson Plaza, Regina. During the Retreat, participants will:

engage in participatory presentations delivered by expert healthcare leaders
develop a project proposal to further leadership skills
meet participants, course presenters and coach/facilitators from diverse areas of the healthcare sector

A two-day follow up Retreat will take place from April 14-15, 2011 with:

interactive panel discussions
group project presentations
banquet with keynote address

Program Certificate

Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate that attests to mastery of the core competencies. This certificate will have additional value for participants whose professional associations require ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Mentoring and Resources

Each participant will have the opportunity to identify a mentor to assist him or her in building skills in areas of focus. A list of mentors and resource persons will be made available to participants.

Learning Teams

Participants will work in “learning teams”. These teams provide support and assistance to each other as they develop their projects. Resource persons and the Master Facilitator will provide additional support to these teams.
