Come and meet with us!
The Aboriginal Career Centre has been established to provide support and to work beside Aboriginal students so they can attain career-related work experience and to provide career-related transitioning for when they graduate.
The main goals of the Centre are to provide programming that supports the academic and career success of Aboriginal students. The Centre has developed and implemented these services:
- Co-operative Education Program (U of R and FNUniv)
- Full Circle Summer Internship Program
- Job Registry which allows all job postings and events to be sent to your e-mail
- SGI Driver Training Classes & In-Car Training Program
- Professional Development Workshops for both the Co-op & Summer programs
- Resume and Cover Letter Preparation & Critiquing
- Employer Luncheon Series
- Mock Interviews Sessions
The Aboriginal Career Centre developed a number of employer partners to assist us in developing a skilled Aboriginal work-force for the future. They help by facilitating our professional development workshops and providing full-time Co-op and summer employment opportunities. The Centre is also developing a resume database for all of our Aboriginal students and will facilitate matching them with our employer partners.
A BIG THANK YOU to our 2010-2011 Sponsor Information Services Corporation. A new screen at the First Nations University of Canada will keep students up-to-date on the latest academic and career-related information!
