Monthly Salvage Posting

Any asset purchased by, donated to or otherwise acquired by the University remains the property of the University until the University disposes of it in accordance with the Management of Assets policy (https://www.uregina.ca/policy/browse-policy/policy-OPS-010-045.html ). If University funds are used to purchase an asset, the title to that asset belongs to the University regardless of which fund is charged, including assets purchased from research accounts, general operating accounts, accountable professional expense accounts, trust accounts, capital accounts or any other source of University funds. All assets deemed and authorized for disposal are sent to Supply Management Services by their faculty or administrative unit for disposal by SMS, and will verify the description of the asset and its condition. These assets include all computer and computer related equipment.

The following items have been pulled from service and are open to other departments who may have requirements for the material, or open for bids to be sold.

To submit your bid(s), complete the Salvage/Surplus Bid Form.

Departments that wish to make use of any of the equipment should contact Supply Management Services before the closing date to ensure the goods will not be sold. This can be done by filling out the Salvage/Surplus Bid Form or e-mailing Supply Management Services. Goods are awarded to departments on a 'first-come, first-served' and 'need' basis.

Personal bids can be submitted by filling out the Salvage/Surplus Bid Form.

All items are sold on an 'as is, where is' basis. Accepted bids are to be paid by cash or cheque made payable to the University of Regina, and delivered to Supply Management Services at the time the items are picked up.

The University reserves the right to accept or reject bids. Department use of these items has priority over personal sale.

When individuals purchase used goods (other than vehicles) for personal use, tax applies to the selling price of the goods, less a deduction of $300 per item. Find out more.
