How to Register with CSA

When to Register

New students are advised to register with CSA once admitted to the University and registered for classes.  Early registration will ensure that supports are in place for the start of the semester.

Students with a newly diagnosed disability, illness or injury are eligible to register with CSA at any point in the semester.

Step 1 : Obtain proper documentation

All students requesting services or accommodations must present appropriate documentation of either a permanent disability or temporary illness/injury or disability.  Make sure to obtain the most recent documentation available regarding your disability.

Learning Disabilities - be prepared to present a copy of a psycho-educational            assessment completed by a registered psychologist within the last 5 years.  The report must include a clearly diagnosed learning disability.  If you do not have a recent assessment, or have never been assessed but are experiencing difficulty, contact CSA to obtain information on how to be assessed.

Other disabilities/illnesses - have your doctor, or appropriate attending professional, complete our Verification Form, or write a letter outlining the nature of your disability/diagnosis, and the impact that it has on your learning and daily functioning.

Step 2 : Intake & Registration Appointment

Once you have your documentation, make and Intake appointment with an Advisor.  The Advisor will go through your documentation and make recommendations for appropriate academic accommodations and services.  Phone intake appointments will be scheduled for off-campus students.  To get a head start, print and complete an Intake Form to bring to your appointment.
