Departmental faculty are active practitioners in media production and studies who have a broad, inclusive outlook toward the many contemporary artistic and critical approaches to culture and the time-based arts of film, video and new media. Their work has been recognized nationally and internationally through broadcast, festival screenings and awards, exhibitions, publication of books and journal articles, curatorial projects and public lectures and appearances. Areas of faculty specialization include work in soundscape, animation, short film and video, communications and new media theory, science fiction and African and Canadian cinemas.
