We are a young and dynamic graduate faculty, offering a MSc degree program and a PhD program. There are a variety of areas of study with our faculty including exercise physiology, children's health and physical activity research, population health, aging and health, sport psychology, global health, nutrition, sport and recreation management, leadership, gender in sport, biomechanics, and adapted physical activity.
As a faculty, we currently hold over six million dollars in research funding from major funding agencies such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI). We also have several state-of-the art laboratories, including the Neuromechanical Research Centre, Motivation for Active Living Laboratory, Sport Psychology Laboratory, Exercise Physiology Laboratory, and the Centre for Exercise and Nutrition in Falls and Aging Research. Our centres and lab facilities provide excellent learning opportunities for our students and produce world class collaborative, interdisciplinary research.
In KHS, you will find a rich and dynamic learning/research environment in our graduate program. It is small enough to offer individualized attention, yet experienced enough to offer a tremendous learning environment, research experiences and support.
