Wellness Wheel - Emotional

Emotional Wellness

Individuals strive to understand their own feelings, accept limitations, achieve emotional stability and become comfortable with emotions.  This implies the ability to express emotions appropriately, adjust to change, cope with stress in a healthy way, and enjoy life despite it's occasional disappointments and frustrations.

Traits of a Emotionally Healthy Individual

  • Keeping a positive mind

  • Being sensitive to your feelings and the feelings of others

  • Learning to cope with stress

  • Being realistic about your expectations and time

  • Taking responsibility for your own actions/behaviour

  • Dealing with your personal and financial issues realistically

  • Viewing challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles

  • Functioning independently but knowing when you need to ask for help
