Regular UR Fit Program Descriptions

Bike & Bosu:  This intense class combines spinning bikes and BOSU’s for a cardio/strength workout.

CMTS:  Cardio, Muscle Toning & Stretching:  This moderate, low impact class will be a blend of cardio, muscle toning and stretching.  

Cycle & Core:  This intense class will jump-start your day by utilizing the spinning bikes for a great cardio workout.  Mats, balls and bands are used for core strength development. 

Early Morning Boot Camp: This is not your ordinary boot camp. This session is an action-packed, high intensity overall workout, guaranteeing you overall results. Participants will receive a combination of high energy anaerobic drills, plyometric exercises, core performance and mental training augmented with motivational techniques.

Fitness Boot Camp: The Fitness Boot Camp will challenge participants in speed, strength, core, and power. The Fitness Coot Camp is a progressive fitness class encompassing an aerobic training, plyometric exercises, core performance & mental training augmented with motivational techniques. If you are looking for a mental/physical challenge, this is the class for you. Participants workout at their own pace.

Moving Forward: This intermediate walk/run class will help you develop your walking/running techniques and will include strength exercises.

Muscle Mix:  This moderate class will incorporate a warm-up, strength exercises using a variety of equipment and a cool down.  This will fit well during your lunch break!  This class is held at the College Ave Campus.

Ripped: Resistance training  to tighten, tone, and sculpt the whole body. An intense, weight lifting workout with light/medium weight dumbbells.

Spin Energy:  This moderate to intense class incorporates spinning bikes, which provide an intense conditioning workout to boost your energy, tone your body and help you feel great.

Step for Everyone:  This moderate aerobic workout utilizes steps to aid in muscular strength development and cardiovascular response.  Participants use both step and resistance training techniques for complete body conditioning.

Women Working Out:  This moderate to intense women’s only workout has a boot camp training style.  This class includes weight training, cardiovascular and core conditioning.  This high energy class is sure to make you sweat!

Mind/Body/Dance Class Descriptions

Belly Dancing: This class is geared to women of all ages to learn Middle Eastern Dancing techniques.

Hip Hop:  Learn the latest moves, have some fun and get fit all at the same time. No dance experience necessary.

Pilates : Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.  With practise and specific exercises focused breathing patterns, Pilates has proven itself invaluable not only as a fitness endeavour itself, but for sports training and physical rehabilitation of all kinds.

TRX Group Suspension Training Course: Along with basic TRX fundamentals, this course teaches how to lead and cue TRX Suspension Training body weight exercise in a small, large or boot camp-style group exercise formats for all fitness levels. This 1 day (8 am – 5pm)  training course is the highest level of education available through TRX. Participants are asked to bring a lunch and water bottle. Registration is open until September 9th and the price for the course is $250.00.

Tai Chi:  Tai’ Chi – Base 24 Form (for beginners). Tai’ Chi is a practical philosophy promoting ultimate health – uniting mind, body and spirit.  It is a powerful antidote for the stresses of modern life.  This beginner class is easy to follow and offers practical self-defence applications in each form. 

Zumba:  The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. Zumba® Fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

Yoga Class Descriptions

Power Yoga:  This is an energizing class with poses that encourage alignment, flexibility, balance, strength and cardiovascular endurance.  Although more intense than a traditional Yoga class, it allows you to leave the class with a calmness found through body and spirit awareness.

Vinyasa yoga: In Vinyasa-style yoga class incorporates a series of poses that will flow from one to another in conjunction with the breath.

Yoga: Yoga is the ancient practice that integrates breathing techniques and physical postures to promote health and relaxation and to deepen awareness.  Classes are structured to include a variety of poses to stretch and strengthen the whole body, according to one’s ability.

*Tuesday 4:35 pm class is a continuing class, for those who have taken yoga before.

Aquatic Fitness Class Descriptions

50 + Water Workout:  Work at your own pace in this senior’s only class.  The focus is on building strength, endurance and joint flexibility.

Deep Water Aquasize:  A focus on core strengthening and conditioning makes up this energizing class.  This is a deep-water class with flotation belt. (No impact).  Super workout for all levels.  You don’t need to know how to swim. 

Learn to Swim:  This course is designed for anyone who would like to become more comfortable in the water as well as improve his or her swimming skills.  The swimming basics will be taught in this class.

Stroke Improvement:  This course is a great way to get in shape while improving your swimming skills.  Certified instructors will help you become more efficient in the water. 

H2O Boot Camp:  Get a total body workout while having fun.  Class consists of running, circuits, drills, and more.  Clean runners are preferred.
