International Study Tour 2010 - "Doing Business in Mexico"

Professor Bryan Austin accompanied fourteen students on a study tour to Mexico during Reading Week. The study tour provided students an opportunity to experience the Mexican culture and business environment. The tour started on February 12th at 4:00 a.m. checking in at the Regina airport. The tour included five different hotels in seven nights, with visits to Huatulco, Mexico City, Puebla, Cuetzalan, and Cholua. Logistical issues made for an interesting experience for all involved!


The students’ visits included a coffee plantation and eco tourism facility in Cuetzalan. They also enjoyed interesting tours of the Talavera pottery production facility and the Volkswagen and Cadbury production plants in Puebla. Iberoamericana Universidad in Puebla provided classes for the students on internet marketing, tourism, branding strategies, and fair trade. Iberoamericana also held a special reception at the university for our students. The group returned home on February 19th after seven days of travelling the back roads of Mexico, eating a variety of new foods, experiencing cool rainy weather, and not getting enough sleep or s
