Student Voices

Student Voices brings to you inspiring stories of inclusion and belonging told by students at the University of Regina.

In the first of these newsletters, April 2024, students share their experiences of Volunteering and how they and members of the communities they volunteered with worked together and created spaces where all are welcomed and encouraged to grow and thrive. Students volunteered in a variety of settings such as Wascana Rehab, the U of R Ambassador Program, Regina Open Door Society, ESL, International Peer Advisor Program, Regina Public Interest Research Group, UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Library and Archives Canada, and the Regina Public Library. This enabled students to bring their light and compassion to society and in turn receive kindness. One student spoke of the guidance, compassion and openness of a Metis Elder Mentor that led them to develop initiatives to help other young people. These students are the emerging leaders of our society and we hope that their stories would inspire others to do the same.
