Together through the University of Regina’s 2012 United Way Campaign we can change lives. Your gift will give people opportunities to move from a life of poverty to one of possibility; empower families to live healthier lives; and give children and youth the chance to achieve their full potential. The University of Regina has supported the United Way since 1983 and has celebrated many milestones. The University of Regina’s United Way campaign team celebrated a new milestone last year when it proudly presented a cheque for $107,074 to its charity of choice.
Not only did the canvassers and organizers at the University break through the $100K ceiling, but they also surpassed the campaign goal by more than $12,000. All of the money raised went to the United Way to support people in need in our community.
The University of Regina’s Strategic Plan mâmawohkamâtowin: Our Work, Our People, Our Communities the Cree word mâmawohkamâtowin means "co-operation; working together towards common goals". By supporting the United Way it helps us to reach our communities common goal by helping those that need it the most. This year’s 2012 United Way Campaign hopes to help our community by raising $100,000 so that we can give back by building a better future for Regina.
Our total pledges up to date are: $60,045.30! That’s 60 per cent of our goal! We still have a long way to go, so let’s pull together to achieve our aspiration! Every dollar counts, so please donate whatever you are able. With the support of the University of Regina, Luther College, Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and the University of Regina Students' Union we will work together to achieve this goal!!
There are many ways for you to participate in our Campaign by simply filling out and submitting your pledge form or stopping by The Owl on Fridays from noon - 4:30 for our 50/50 draws. So far the winnings have been between $55 and $100 and you do not have to be present to win so stop on by even if you can’t stay for long.
From now until October 31 the Faculty of Business Administration will be selling tickets for some lucky person to become Dean for a Day! Tickets are $5 and three for $10. They can be purchased at the Faculty of Business Administration front desk or by emailing JDC West at urjdcwest2013@gmail.com
Remember every little bit helps!
With thanks and hope of achieving our goal,
Miranda Pearson, Pat Patton, Philip Charrier, and Wendy Whitebear
