It is with immense pleasure that I extend my warmest greetings to you as we unveil the first edition of our Education Newsletter - EduPulse. These quarterly newsletters will share with you updates on current events and transformative initiatives taking place within our Faculty, including innovative teaching, research and community connections.

Our institution is situated on Treaty 4 Territory — the traditional lands of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda peoples, and the homeland of the Michif/Métis nation. We work to demonstrate and grow our commitment to reconciliation every day through our teaching, research, learning, and community partnerships.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the University of Regina and the 40th Anniversary of le Bac - our French language Teacher Education program. We have much to celebrate together including the launch of our undergraduate Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship, recent signings of Early Childhood Education credit transfer agreements with Saskatchewan Polytechnic and Lakeland College, and the start of our newest graduate cohorts in the summer of 2024. These include la Maîtrisse en Éducation française, a fully online Masters in Educational Leadership, and the first Indigenous Education Doctorate in partnership with Gabriel Dumont Institute.

In this issue, you will further discover stories that bring to life our commitment as a partner in reconciliation, our effort to expand online program opportunities to serve the needs of rural and remote communities, and our dedication to maintaining a culture that values and supports teaching and research.

Our Faculty of Education is renowned for its commitment to enacting social and ecological justice, inclusiveness, cultural and linguistic diversity, and life-long learning in a community of care and mutual respect. Through our transformative, anti-oppressive undergraduate and graduate teaching, scholarship and service, we strive to be the Faculty of choice for diverse, passionate and outstanding Education students in English and French.

I hope that EduPulse will become a platform where we will continue to reconnect, and I invite you to leave your feedback on the EduPulse Newsletter.

With gratitude,

Dr. James Nahachewsky

Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Regina
