Playwrights Reading Series - Christina Cook

Christina Cook (she/they) is a theatre artist and therapist. Christina’s writing credits include the play Quick Bright Things (Playwrights Canada Press), which was a finalist for the 2020 Governor General’s Literary Awards for Drama. Her play, Gerty, is half electronic-communication-from-the-future, half radio-drama-drag-show, and all Genderqueer (Educational Fabulations, 2022). As a therapist, Cook specializes in working with adult and youth 2SLGBTQIA+ community members. Christina is also completing a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia, where they create scholarship on therapy and research-based theatre which explores the intersections of wellbeing and personal narratives.
